Calcasieu Parish Police Jury approves scores of resolutions, contracts and appointments; demolition deferred

The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury adopted a series of resolutions, contract awards and appointments during its regular meeting Sept. 4. Most items were approved by motion and voice vote with no recorded roll call tallies; the clerk announced each item "carries." One ordinance authorizing condemnation and demolition of a house at 2913 Crockett Street in Westlake was deferred 60 days at the request of staff.

Key actions approved by the jury included resolutions and agreements for water, drainage and road projects, acceptance of construction bids and selection of professional services.
