The City Commission of the City of Coconut Creek on Sept. 15 adopted a tentative operating millage rate of 6.8988 mills for the 2026 fiscal year, approved the city’s fiscal year 2026 budget and approved higher assessment rates for fire rescue and solid-waste services.
Finance Director Peter Guay told the commission the proposed operating millage “represents a 6.47% increase over the rollback rate of 6.4793, computed pursuant to state law,” and that adopting the 6.8988 rate is necessary to sustain current service levels. Guay said the millage figure was the same as the rate listed on the notices mailed to property owners in August.
