Baptist Health Cancer Care receives Keep Doral Beautiful business award

Baptist Health Cancer Care was honored Wednesday by the Doral City Council with a Keep Doral Beautiful business award for property improvements and community service, city officials said.
Edgar Estrada, co-compliance director for the city, introduced the award and said the center — located at 3125 NW 84th Avenue and occupying about 43,000 square feet — has been in Doral about a year and employs about 20 staff. Estrada noted building painting, parking-lot resurfacing and continuous landscape maintenance among recent improvements.
Sahana Sundaram, the site practice manager, accepted the award and said she helped open the clinic during construction and that the center formally opened in February. “I started about actually a year ago as of tomorrow, working with Miami Cancer Institute, kind of helping start up the clinic, as we were under construction. And we opened officially in February, and it's been great seeing its growth up till now,” Sundaram said.
Maria Luisa, who handles government and community relations for Baptist Health, told the council she has worked with Doral for 23 years and thanked the city for its support. Mayor Kristy Fraga thanked the facility for its investment in the community and for the health services it provides.
Ending: The council took a photo with awardees in the chamber; staff said the recognition reflects private investment in local services and property upkeep.
