Road department lists projects, forecasts Glendora work completion; 96-page maintenance manual to seek committee approval

Berrien County road department staff briefed the board on multiple ongoing projects and said work is proceeding on schedule. Commissioners were told about Cleveland Avenue (near Snow in Glendora) where trench widening will begin, a culvert replacement project on Red Arrow Highway in Lake Township, paving completion in the Shamrock Hills subdivision in Niles Township and countywide resurfacing and line-painting work.
Mark Heiliger (Road Department) told commissioners the Glendora We Saw Project is expected to be completed by the 18th and that countywide line painting crews are active. Crews have completed replacement work on Glean Buchanan Road and several restoration and structure adjustments are underway in subdivisions identified in the report.
The department also highlighted training: four foremen attended the Michigan Public Service Institute. Road staff prepared a 96‑page County Maintenance Manual that will be brought to the administration committee for review and a future resolution recommending board approval.
Commissioners were invited to review project materials and the manual; no final vote on the manual occurred at this meeting.
