Planning Commission warns of spoofed commission email addresses; IT investigating

The City Planning Commission's Development Services office warned commissioners of spoofed emails that appear to come from planning‑commission addresses and asked members to ignore and report any suspicious messages.
Andrew Demas, development services staff, told the commission the office discovered a “nefarious party mimicking planning commission's email addresses” and said IT is working on the issue. “If you see any odd emails come your way…please ignore it and let me know,” Demas said. He added that the commission would not request gift cards or wire transfers by email.
Demas characterized the alert as precautionary and said there were no further agenda items related to the matter. Commissioners were advised not to forward any suspicious messages to others and to report them to staff so IT can pursue remediation.
