Nevada cannabis board to stop taking online public comment starting November under state law

The Cannabis Compliance Board announced at its Sept. 18 meeting that, beginning in November, it will accept public comment only in person during monthly board meetings and will discontinue taking online or phone comments as a routine practice.
The board’s chair read a statement on the record referencing Assembly Bill 64 of the 2025 legislative session and said the change reflects that “public bodies are no longer required to take public comment online or by phone if there's a physical location for the meeting.” The board will continue to accept written comments submitted by 5 p.m. the day before a meeting; those submissions will be posted to the CCB website.
The change affects how industry participants and members of the public will be able to participate in the board’s meetings. At the Sept. 18 meeting staff gave instructions for remote participation for the remainder of September and October, and the board said members of the public who cannot attend in person may submit written comments to CCBmeetings@ccb.nv.gov.
Board staff said the change is being implemented under the statutory authority cited by the chair and that the board will continue to post all public comments it receives. The board did not vote on the policy change at the meeting; the chair’s statement set the effective timeline for discontinuing routine online and phone public comment after October.
The board encouraged those who cannot attend in person to use the written-comment option and said staff will continue to post those comments on the CCB website.
