After a public hearing with no public testimony, the Deschutes County Board of Commissioners on Sept. 17 approved Order 2025-041 to annex two parcels on Harper Road into Rural Fire Protection District No. 2.
Kim Riley, senior assistant legal counsel, told the board that the rural fire district and county departments had reviewed and approved the annexation petition and staff recommended approval following the hearing. The hearing record contained no remote or in-person testimony, and the board closed the public hearing before deliberations.
Commissioner Adair moved approval of Order 2025-041; the motion was seconded and passed with all commissioners voting yes. Commissioners noted that staff maps in the packet helped clarify the shape of Fire District No. 2 and the boundary with Redmond Fire and Rescue.
The order annexes two parcels (both owned by the same owner) into Rural Fire Protection District No. 2; the action is recorded as Order 2025-041 and takes effect on adoption unless otherwise noted in county procedures.
