County releases 2025 annual report highlighting water projects, parks and affordable housing investments

County Administrator Vince Long presented the 2025 Leon County annual report and a short video summarizing the year’s key achievements. The report highlights more than $60 million leveraged for septic-to-sewer projects, removal of over 700 septic tanks, $1.6 million invested in Lake Munson Slough embankment work, more than 100 new acres of green space and nearly 20 miles of new trails added in 2025.
The report notes increased affordable-housing gap financing to $500,000 annually and pairing $5.8 million in direct funding with $183 million in bond financing supporting more than 1,200 affordable rental homes in the pipeline. County staff also reported work delivering veteran services, improvements to roads and stormwater, expanded parks and community events, and holding the county millage rate flat for the 14th consecutive year.
Commissioner remarks praised staff performance and awarded the administration for employee service. The board unanimously accepted the annual report and commended departments for awards and service delivery.
