The Kenosha County Finance & Administration Committee approved two easement requests during its meeting: a utility easement for We Energies on county parcels in Salem Lakes and an easement from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to extend county fiber to Silver Lake Park.
Shelly Billingsley, Kenosha County director of public works and development services, presented both requests. She said the We Energies easement would allow a utility connection that crosses county property related to new home construction in the Village of Salem Lakes; county staff recommended approval. Supervisor Gaffney moved approval of the We Energies easement and Supervisor Gerson seconded; the committee approved the motion by voice vote.
Billingsley said the second easement — from the Wisconsin DNR — will permit county fiber to reach Silver Lake Park and feed a key station at the beach to provide lifeguard connectivity and to support event vendors. Staff recommended approval; Supervisor Pearson moved approval and Supervisor Ken seconded. The committee approved that easement by voice vote.
Both easements were presented as routine infrastructure requests and the committee recorded approval without further substantive discussion.
