The West Bend Community Library board on Sept. 16 approved the consent agenda — including the Aug. 19 meeting minutes and August expenditures — after correcting a date in the minutes related to a train chiller.
The board received a routine financial report that showed nominal interest earnings and a small private grant. Joseph, who presented the finance report, said, “We had 9¢ of interest in the program checking and $47.06 of interest in the money market account.” He also reported a $875 grant from the Washington County Charitable Foundation and two outgoing checks, one to Language Lizard and one to Nazia Karimi for an Afghan display.
The report included discussion of other grants and planned uses. Board members clarified that the $875 award was tied to a planned multicultural Mother’s Day event and that the Washington County Charitable Foundation has broadened its mission from scholarships to program support. The board did not amend budget lines at this meeting; staff said additional adjustments are possible before the final budget presentation to the city council.
The board moved and seconded approval of the consent agenda as corrected; the chair called for the vote and said, “All in favor, say aye.” The motion carried.
