House of Representatives receives annual report, adjusts calendars and adjourns until Sept. 11

The clerk read an "annual report in accordance with Act 24 of 2021" from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry regarding the Bureau of Occupational and Industrial Safety waiver for the 2024–2025 state fiscal year, the clerk said. The chair also announced a set of printed journals that were approved without objection and postponed approval of the journal for Tuesday, Sept. 9 until it is printed.
The clerk read referrals and the chair referred bills to committee. The clerk enumerated several items sent to committees, including House Resolution 309 to Agriculture and Rural Affairs; Senate Bill 922 to Education; Senate Bill 533 to Game and Fisheries; House Bill 1855 to Labor and Industry; House Bill 1856 to Local Government; Senate Bill 1114 to Professional Licensure; Senate Bill 460 to State Government; and Senate Bill 64 to Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness.
The chair announced a set of bills that "have been reported from rules committee and tabled pursuant to Rule 22," listing numerous House bills by number (including House Bill 71; House Bill 102; House Bill 179; House Bill 197; House Bill 260; House Bill 348; House Bill 364; House Bill 377; House Bill 415; House Bill 425; House Bill 446; House Bill 649; House Bill 661; House Bill 783; House Bill 828; House Bill 985; House Bill 999; House Bill 1091; House Bill 1129; House Bill 1145; House Bill 1176; House Bill 1239; House Bill 1257; House Bill 1308; House Bill 1331; House Bill 1342; House Bill 1416; House Bill 1423; House Bill 1427; House Bill 1503; House Bill 1551; House Bill 1552; House Bill 1560; House Bill 1562; House Bill 1584; House Bill 1606; House Bill 1608; House Bill 1615; House Bill 1629; House Bill 1651; House Bill 6155; House Bill 1702; House Bill 1704) and said they were tabled pursuant to Rule 22.
The majority leader moved that House Bill 1540 be removed from the active calendar and placed on the tabled calendar. Later, the majority leader moved to remove a set of bills from the tabled calendar and place them on the active calendar; the list read aloud included House Bills 102, 200, 430, 804, 1176, 1308, 1331, 1540, 1608, 1615, 1651, 1704 and Senate Bills 88, 130, 185, 715 and 800. The transcript records those motions but does not record roll-call tallies or the outcome of those specific calendar motions.
Representative Derisha Parker of Philadelphia County moved to adjourn the House until Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025 at 11 a.m., "unless sooner recalled by the speaker." After a voice vote, the chair declared, "The ayes have it, and the House stands adjourned until Thursday, 09/11/2025 at 11AM unless sooner recalled by the speaker."
