House refers several bills to committees and adjourns until Sept. 12

The House of Representatives convened at 11 a.m. and proceeded with routine business before referring several bills and resolutions to committee and adjourning until Friday, Sept. 12, 2025 at 11 a.m.

Representative Jordan Harris, chair of the Committee on Appropriations, reported a committee action that included “Senate bill 1 60 reported as committed.” The House then agreed to the bill by voice vote; the clerk confirmed the ayes prevailed.

The clerk read referrals of House bills and resolutions to standing committees. The referrals read into the record were: House Bill 18 57 to Communications and Technology; House Bill 18 51 to Health; House Bill 12 51 to Professional Licensure; and House Bill 18 58 to State Government. The clerk also recorded House Resolution 3 10 to Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness; a later referral line included House Resolution 3 13 to Human Services and Senate Bill 3 81 to Judiciary.

Before the referrals, the chair announced that the prayer and pledge were dispensed with for the day and that the approval of the journal of Wednesday, 09/10/2025 would be postponed until it is printed.

Representative Pat Gallagher moved that “the house now adjourn until Friday, 09/12/2025 at 11AM unless sooner called by the speaker.” The motion was decided by voice vote; the chair said, “The ayes have it,” and the House stood adjourned to that date and time.
