Audit staff told the Legislative Performance Audit Oversight Committee that observation 8 of a Department of Administrative Services audit named the Liquor Commission because it participated in a recycling program at the time.
"If you could please turn to the last page of this document, you'll notice that this was an audit of of the Department of Administrative Services. Liquor was named on observation 8, because, we were part of the recycling program at the time," an audit staff member said.
Staff said DAS added an action plan entry noting the Liquor Commission should respond and that the commission had not been notified previously that the item remained open. After being alerted by the committee, audit staff said they reached out to DAS and received a response from the Liquor Commission.
When asked whether the item should be marked complete, audit staff and committee members agreed the nine observations under discussion were now resolved. "In accordance with, again, 9 observations, 8 of which had been marked prior to coming in here as resolved. This was the last 1. So all 9 we're 9 for 9 now at this point," an audit staff member said.
The committee asked staff to ensure the audit-tracking sheet is updated so the public record reflects the resolution. The committee did not record a formal roll-call vote; staff described it as an administrative update to the audit status.
