Adams 12 introduces new principals and operations leaders as bond and construction work begin

Adams 12 Five Star Schools officials introduced new school principals and business-services leaders during the board's Sept. 17 meeting as the district begins work tied to its recently approved bond.

Board members were introduced to new principals including Liz Russell (principal, Northglenn High School; not present), Lisonbee Helfand (principal, Vantage Point High School and Crossroads Middle School campus; not present), Jason Sheeroff (principal, Skyview Elementary), Tim Garcia (principal, North Star Elementary), Michelle Kerber (principal, Wood Glen Elementary) and Susie Odyorozio (principal, Rocky Mountain Elementary). Introducers described principals as experienced educators who recently moved into district leadership roles.

The board also heard introductions for several business-services leaders: Roy Crews, director of custodial and outside services; Kate Vogel, bond principal liaison; John Leatherman, director of maintenance, sustainability and environmental; and Peter (Piat Nimkovich), director of construction. The presenters said those leaders will oversee sites and construction work as the district implements bond projects including Whittier High School (name mentioned as an upcoming project), a Nutrition Services Center and other capital efforts.

General Counsel Phil Spare introduced Mikayla (Mikaela) Bland as the district’s new Title IX nondiscrimination coordinator. Spare told the board that Bland comes from a national firm providing Title IX services and has immediately taken on casework and compliance work.

Presenters asked board members and the community to welcome the new leaders and noted that principals are the district’s “linchpins” in leading learning and school operations.
