The Churchill County Planning Commission on Sept. 25 approved a modification to Special Use Permit SUP-1085 to extend Track C at Fernley Business Park by approximately 600 feet to provide additional rail for transloading operations.
Randy Hines, who presented the item, said staff determined the requested change was a minor modification to the previously approved site plan. The earlier agenda version included a small office building, but Hines said that revision was removed prior to the hearing and the modification before the commission was limited to the rail extension.
Commissioners had no substantive objections and no public comment was offered. Commissioner Joe Frey moved for approval; the motion passed unanimously.
The approved modification allows the applicant to extend the existing track to provide additional rail capacity; the SUP remains otherwise unchanged.
