MSDE‑sponsored teacher apprenticeship registered with Maryland Apprenticeship and Training Council

Maryland State Department of Education staff announced at the Sept. 11 meeting that the Maryland Apprenticeship and Training Council has registered an MSDE‑sponsored teacher registered apprenticeship program.
Staff said two local education agencies have signed on so far and that the Maryland State Education Association (MSEA) provided a formal letter of support. MSDE staff invited other local education agencies that are interested in joining the apprenticeship program to contact the department by phone or email to arrange follow‑up.
The announcement was presented during the communications portion of the meeting as a program development item; staff framed it as an initial rollout with outreach to LEAs and partners planned in the coming weeks.
