Hopkinton council reappoints Mary Gibbons to Land Trust board

The Hopkinton Town Council voted unanimously on Sept. 15 to reappoint Mary Gibbons to the Hopkinton Land Trust Board of Trustees.
Gibbons, who identified herself as a resident and said she has lived in Hopkinton for 38 years, told the council she has served on the land trust for more than 16 years. Councilors expressed appreciation for her long service.
Councilor Davis made the motion to reappoint Gibbons; the motion was seconded and carried with councilors voting “aye.” The meeting record shows votes recorded as Roy, aye; Davis, aye; Burns, aye; and Yuri, aye.
No public controversy or competing nominations were recorded during the appointment discussion. Councilors noted the need for future recruitment of younger volunteers to serve the town’s boards and commissions.
The reappointment was recorded on the meeting consent agenda and required no additional council action.
