At the Sept. 10 meeting the Torrington Planning and Zoning Commission acknowledged two administrative determinations handled by staff: a site determination at 202 River Drive for a small woodworking/restoration use in an existing steel building and an internal site‑plan handling for a food‑truck at the end of Hart Drive.
Jeremy Leifer, city planner, explained that the 202 River Drive property had preexisting industrial uses and that staff reviewed and allowed a limited light‑industrial woodworking/restoration use under the existing nonconforming and grandfathered conditions on the site. For the Hart Drive location, staff said the practice for food trucks located on large private lots is to provide guidance on operating and storage (for example, removing the truck nightly) and to file a simple internal site plan for undersized parking lots so the city has a record of the arrangement.
The commission had no objection to the staff determinations and took no further action. Staff will maintain records of the administrative approvals.
