The Parlier City Council approved its annual Measure C pass‑through allocations and authorized a road maintenance contract funded by SB 1 at the Sept. 4 meeting.
Public works staff reported the Measure C allocation for fiscal year 2025–26 includes $8,421 for ADA compliance, $293,000 in flexible funds and $240,000 for street maintenance. The council approved the resolution to submit the claim form and accept the allocations.
On related street work, staff reported bids for a multi‑road maintenance package. Two bids were received: BSS International at $510,211 (lowest responsive bid) and GC Builders at $688,525. The council awarded the contract to BSS International and authorized a budget amendment to add $115,661 in prior‑year SB 1 rollover funds to cover additional roads identified for this cycle.
Councilmembers emphasized the role of Measure C and SB 1 as essential local funding sources for sidewalks, road pavement and transit. The motions to approve the Measure C allocation and the contract award both passed by recorded votes.
