Patricia Bittara of William Shutt Associates presented a proposal for Bible Believers Baptist Church at 751 French Road to add 20 parking spaces to address overflow during events. Bittara said the site currently has 46 spaces and that during peak functions some congregants park on side streets.
The proposal includes a grass‑lined detention basin to the east intended to accept sheet flow and provide a controlled discharge to French Road, which Bittara said will produce no net increase in runoff. The dumpster will be relocated within the existing parking field and buffered by landscaping; perimeter landscaping is also planned around the proposed expansion and detention basin. The applicant said the proposed layout maintains a continuous interior green space to facilitate snow plowing.
Board members asked about distances to property lines and lighting. Bittara said the nearest distance from the proposed parking field to the east property line is 56 feet and the distance from the termination of parking to the rear property line is 31 feet. No lighting is proposed now; the applicant noted a tall utility pole might accommodate an additional, dark‑sky‑compliant fixture in the future. A motion to approve carried by voice vote.
