Bath County board approves consent agenda including budget items, MOUs and personnel request

The Bath County Board of Education approved a consent agenda of routine and substantive items at its Sept. 15 working session, covering minutes, financial reports, grants, memoranda of agreement (MOAs) and personnel requests.

The agenda items listed for approval included: Aug. 25 minutes; August financial statement; superintendent expenses; superintendent’s August working calendar; claims; facility-use requests; travel; grants; pay bills through Sept. 30, 2025; review of monthly financial reports of all funds; TAR report; Migrant Education Memorandum of Agreement; Fiscal Year 2026 working budget; MOU with Gateway Children’s Services; MSU Dual Credit MOA; community education MOA; KEDC AI mobile lab MOU; food service procurement plan; an additional special education teacher position for the 2025–26 school year; authorization to create a booster club for the Bath County High School girls’ golf team; permission to surplus band instruments; and other listed MOAs and agreements.

The board took the collective vote on items A through V by voice; the meeting record shows the board chair asked for public comment and none was made, and the board signified approval by voice.

Why it matters: the consent package included budget and staffing approvals that will affect classroom services, dual-credit arrangements and contracted services for the coming year.
