Belmont County mental health board asks Martins Ferry for support as 10-year levy comes up for renewal

Lisa Ward, executive director of the Belmont County Mental Health & Recovery Board, asked Martins Ferry officials to support a renewal levy that will appear on the November ballot and said the renewal would not increase residents’ taxes.
“The levy will be a renewal levy,” Ward said. “It will not be a raise in taxes.” She told the council the board’s levy funds prevention and crisis services across Belmont, Harrison and Monroe counties and supports school-based early-intervention programs in all 12 Belmont County schools.
