Carbon County Airport board reports terminal expansion progress; Rawlins presents August Community Builder Award to F & S Trucking

A representative of the Carbon County Airport board, identified in the meeting as Mr. Eagleson, told the Rawlins City Council on Sept. 16 that an expansion to the airport’s old terminal completed last year is finishing paperwork and the board is now working on replacing one automatic swinging gate and a rotating beacon that is more than 60 years old and increasingly difficult to service.
Eagleson invited council members to tour the renovated terminal and praised board member Megan Macomas for decorating the space.
Earlier in the meeting the council presented the August 2025 Community Builder Award to F & S Trucking. City volunteers and the volunteer committee described Steve and Christine Fritz (company principals) as frequent donors to local events and programs, including youth sports, emergency response, summer camps, charity auctions and holiday gift programs; the pair said they would donate their award stipend of $100 to the local Elks Angel Tree program.
