The Tooele City Council on Sept. 3, 2025 approved Resolution 2025-76 authorizing the city’s purchasing agent to dispose of six used tires removed from a 2020 Ram brush truck.
City Recorder Shiloh Baker said the tires are Sumitomo brand and were replaced when the brush truck was rebuilt. Baker told the council the city wants to offer the tires first to other county entities; if none take them, the city will put them up for public sale and start with an asking price of $150 apiece.
“We would first like to offer that out to other entities in the county first,” Baker said. She described the tires as used but in good condition and noted that disposal otherwise would cost the city money.
Councilman Hansen moved approval; Councilwoman Gochis seconded. The vote was recorded as aye from Councilwoman Manzione, Councilwoman Gochis, Councilman Hansen, Councilman McCall and Councilman Brady. The motion passed 5-0.
Baker said the city will accept best offers if necessary and will attempt intra-county transfer before a public sale.
