The McGregor City Council on Sept. 8 approved a negotiated settlement with Atmos Energy’s Mid-Tex division, adopted changes to the city fee schedule, renewed the city’s membership with PHI Air Medical and confirmed a slate of appointments to municipal boards and commissions.
The measures were approved by voice votes or unanimous consent on routine motions; several appointment votes recorded abstentions or a single nay as noted below.
Council business began with approval of the consent agenda, which included minutes from the council’s August 4, August 21 and August 22 meetings. The council then moved to the substantive items on the agenda.
On item 3 the council approved resolution R-14-2025, described in the meeting as a negotiated settlement between the Atmos City Steering Committee (ACSC) and Atmos Energy Corporation, Mid-Tex Division, related to the company’s 2025 rate review mechanism filing. Counsel said the settlement process gives local governments a seat at the table before matters go to the Public Utility Commission. The motion passed on a voice vote.
