Operations committee minutes read at the board meeting said the district has DOE approval on several projects, including HVAC upgrades at school 6 and related work. EI Associates and Land Associates are the architects engaged on different projects; EI assigned Michael Wozni to manage district projects. A meeting was scheduled to review a high school HVAC upgrade, middle-school HVAC work and other capital items. The committee reported a target award date of Nov. 12, 2025 for two projects previously budgeted in 2024—25.
Other projects discussed included a roof replacement at the administration building (DOE-approved), partial replacement of a high-school wing and the possibility of constructing a pole barn for athletics. Committee members said the pole-barn timeline depends on weather and approvals and could proceed this fall if conditions allow, or be pushed to next summer.
The committee also reported work underway on the middle-school main office and a loop-balancing vendor (LGV) scheduled to perform balancing on Sept. 20. Cafeteria serving-line upgrades at the high school were presented; after review, some equipment items were omitted and the remaining upgrade will be charged to food-service funds, a committee representative said.
On food-service finances, the operations committee reported uncollected lunch balances at $14,008.05 as of Sept. 17, year to date. Committee members said the district is "aggressively" working to collect those balances and will communicate with families about free and reduced-price meal applications.
Ending: Board members asked for additional timeline details for the pole barn and were told dates will depend on weather, approvals and athletic director input. The operations committee said its next meeting is scheduled for Oct. 21, 2025.
