Zoning commissioner resigns; KFC renovation and Anderson Ferry road work progress reported

The Delhi Township Board of Trustees accepted the voluntary resignation of Daniel F. Burke Jr. from the township zoning commission on Sept. 24.
Director of Community Development Roach said Burke served on the zoning commission since about February 2016 and contributed to several map and text amendments; the board approved the resignation and directors said they would recruit a replacement to return the commission to its five-member complement.
Roach provided updates on two commercial projects. He said a KFC renovation is moving forward; the fire chief confirmed earlier receipt of plans for updated cooking equipment and hood-suppression systems and Roach said the restaurant appears on track to open by the end of the year although no firm date was given. Roach also said work on a lane-widening and turn-lane extension on Anderson Ferry Road was delayed after contractors discovered utility lines at a shallower depth than planned; the director estimated a delay of one to two weeks before crews resume visible work.
Roach also noted that a proposed convenience-store operator shown on the township website as Sunoco had not finalized signage and that staff would remove the listing to avoid confusion until a brand decision is confirmed.
