Green Dragon Foundation reports $235,302 distributed to district last year; endowment generates permanent revenue

A representative of the Green Dragon Foundation provided the board with the foundation’s annual update during the Sept. 11 Lewisburg Area School District meeting, reporting multi-year giving totals, last year’s distributions and program support.
The speaker said the foundation has provided the district more than $3 million in gifts, grants and program support since its launch in 2008 and holds about $1.2 million in endowment funds that currently generate roughly $40,000–$45,000 per year. For fiscal 2025 the foundation reported it distributed $235,302 to the district and had secured more than $500,000 in new commitments. The representative said the endowment will be a major focus going forward to grow permanently restricted funds that support district programming.
The foundation summary listed recent support across categories: health and well-being (including the GOLD program, CPR mannequins and the snack-pack program); STEM (Girls in Need Space program); experiential programs (Model UN, TSA, FBLA, a Beekeeping Club); athletics (completion of funding for the Dragon’s Den, tennis equipment and archery); and arts (digital art iPads, visiting choir, and third-grade recorders). The speaker thanked executive director Anne Glock and program coordinator Chen Chabahang and introduced the foundation’s new vice president, Jimmy Chen.
Board members expressed appreciation; the foundation representative thanked board members and district leadership and noted the foundation’s commitment to making donor funds available to support district priorities.
