Staff noted the two signs on the property would be about 525 feet apart and more than the minimum distance from the nearest adjacent signs.
Applicant Weston Saunders (Saunders Outdoor Advertising) told the commission the firm would lower the signs to a 35‑foot overall height (from an initial design at 40 feet) to conform with county code and expects a flag design (pole at the side) to reduce conflict with site circulation. "We'll lower it to 35, to be in compliance with our code," Saunders said.
The planning commission had recommended approval; the county commission accepted the recommendation, a motion was seconded and the vote carried.
Clarifying details: staff said the parcel sits within commercial zoning adjacent to R‑1 and A‑20 zones and near tribal lands to the south; the applicant had submitted a building‑permit application and was referred to county planning for the commission approval prior to building permit issuance.
