Representatives of the Susquehanna Township Baseball Association addressed the board to follow up on an August 22 committee meeting about Kauffman (Kaufman) Field and to confirm insurance, utilities and lease edits.
Carl Hoffman, treasurer of the Susquehanna Township Baseball Association, said the association provided the district with proof of liability insurance (a $1,000,000 per-occurrence threshold with a $3,000,000 aggregate listed in the association’s comments) and proposed edits to a draft lease. Hoffman and other association members asked that the association be given an anticipated project start date for a stormwater project behind the middle school; association leaders proposed June 15, 2027, as an ideal start to avoid conflict with the summer league season.
Board members and staff treated the presentation as informational; the association thanked the district for moving the arrangement from a longtime handshake agreement to a documented lease. The board did not vote on a lease that night and said lease details and the association’s edits would return for future consideration.
