Council expedites liquor license change for Eagle Street LLC to allow planned opening

The City Council voted to suspend the rules and approve a change-of-ownership application for a liquor-on-sale license held by Eagle Street LLC doing business as Eagle Street at 253 Kellogg Blvd. NW.
Vice President Kim moved to suspend the rules so the council could consider Resolution 2051403 on the same day; the council agreed the paperwork was complete for the business but clerical delays had prevented final licensing in time for the owner's planned opening. Council members said the business hoped to open on Sept. 6 and the expedited vote would prevent undue burdens on the local business.
The approved license change includes liquor on-sale privileges, a 2 a.m. closing time, outdoor service, entertainment, and gambling location authorizations as described in the resolution; the council approved the resolution by voice vote after suspension of the rules.
