Warren County commissioners approved a contract with Tech Friends to provide mail-scanning services at the county jail and accepted a $7,500 high bid on a surplus item during routine business on the county’s agenda.
County staff said the Tech Friends service scans incoming jail mail to detect drugs, powders, and other contraband; the board approved the agreement by motion and voice vote. The motion to accept the Tech Friends agreement was moved and seconded and carried with all in favor.
On a separate administrative matter, the board reviewed bids for a surplus item that had been placed for auction. Meeting discussion referenced a reserve price of $9,000 and a highest bid of $7,500; a commissioner moved to accept the $7,500 high bid and the motion carried by voice vote.
The board also approved the consent agenda, which included minutes and a financial report, by motion and voice vote. No roll-call tallies were recorded for any of the routine voice votes reported in the meeting minutes.
