Tulsa County commissioners approve routine business, proclaim Sept. 20 'Monarchs on the Mountain'

The Tulsa County Board of County Commissioners met Monday, Sept. 8, 2025, and approved a slate of routine business, referred a parks architectural request for qualifications, accepted an update from the juvenile detention home and issued a proclamation naming Sept. 20, 2025, as the tenth annual Monarchs on the Mountain celebration.

The board’s secretary read a proclamation recognizing the coalition of local partners organizing the Monarchs on the Mountain migration celebration and declaring Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025, a day of celebration. The proclamation noted Oklahoma’s location on the monarch migration flyway and encouraged citizens to support monarch conservation activities.

The board approved the minutes from its Sept. 2 meeting, accepted the county clerk’s August 2025 report and handled a series of procurement, personnel and agreement items, each by motion and roll-call vote. Among those actions, the board referred the parks request for qualifications for architectural services for the Tulsa County Golf Course to procurement, parks and engineering for review and recommendations.

On procurement and administrative matters, the board approved amendments in engineering and human resources, confirmed replacement procurement officer appointments, approved multiple agreements and accepted inventory resolutions for IT and parks. The board also approved a sole-source purchase requested by the highway department from Holt Truck Centers and approved a City of Tulsa utility permit requested by the county engineers.
