The Jackson City Council unanimously approved several items at its Sept. 30 meeting, including the second reading and final adoption of Ordinance 2025‑03 and two procurement contracts.
Ordinance 2025‑03: The council approved the second reading and final adoption of ordinance number 2025‑03, described by the clerk as an amendment to sections 25 through 30 of the Jackson Code of Ordinances. The motion passed unanimously.
Snow‑removal contract extension: The council approved a fourth one‑year contract extension with Executive Property Management of Michigan for downtown sidewalks and parking lot snow removal and for the police department sidewalks and parking lots, at a cost of $95,855 for fiscal year 2025‑26. The motion passed unanimously.
Steam‑boiler purchase: The council approved the purchase and installation of a new steam boiler at the wastewater treatment plant maintenance garage from Adrian Mechanical Services in the amount of $147,390. The motion passed unanimously.
Consent calendar and minutes: The consent calendar passed, and the council later separately moved and approved the minutes of the Sept. 16, 2025 regular meeting. All recorded votes on these items were unanimous at the meeting.
The council did not attach additional conditions to these approvals during the meeting.
