Board approves $3,750 preservation grant for 821 Walnut Street

The Board of Public Works and Safety on Sept. 15 approved a $3,750 preservation grant final payment to Foster Mefford for completed façade rehabilitation work at 821 Walnut Street, staff said.
City staff displayed before-and-after photos and said the work included painting, window repair, tuck pointing, a new door and gutters. Staff noted the PACE (preservation and community enhancement) committee had missed a quorum for its recent meeting and is rescheduling to consider additional applications; staff said if the committee recommends additional awards, the program’s remaining funds for this allocation year would be limited.
A board member moved to approve the final payment and the motion passed by voice vote.
