Planning commission recommends approval of LCCDC subdivision; one commissioner abstains

The North Platte City Planning Commission on Sept. 23 voted to recommend preliminary and final approval of SU25-017, a subdivision application from the Lincoln County Community Development Corporation to consolidate four existing lots at 1117–1121 East Eleventh Street into two lots with a shared utility and access easement.
Planning staff member Judy said the subdivision would consolidate four lots into two, include a north–south shared utility and access easement from the alley to East Eleventh Street, and that the lots have city utilities. Judy said the applicant intends to demolish an existing structure on one lot and, as grant funding becomes available, build a fourplex on each lot.
The motion to recommend approval was made by Matthew and seconded by Bain and carried 7–0 with one abstention. The record shows that Mr. McEwen abstained because he serves on the board of the Lincoln County Community Development Corporation.
The planning commission's recommendation will be forwarded to the City Council for a public hearing, scheduled for Oct. 7. Planning staff noted the applicant is a nonprofit and that construction timing depends on future grant funding.
No additional conditions were placed on the recommendation. Planning staff flagged a minor plat labeling correction during the meeting (duplicate “Lot 1, Block 1” on a page) that was corrected before the motion.
