At its Sept. 22 committee meeting, the Public Welfare & Safety Committee considered a request from Mayor Judge and staff to enter a lease‑purchase agreement with NCL Government Capital on behalf of Southwest Summit Council of Governments (Swisscog) to obtain Zetron Max dispatch equipment. Committee members discussed the need to replace equipment more than a decade old to ensure interoperability with the new regional platform planned for the first of the year.
Finance Director Jeremy Flaker presented a separate request to enter into a contract with Zetron in the amount of $116,223.55, to be funded through the proposed lease‑purchase with NCL Government Capital. Committee members confirmed that the equipment would be acquired by the city and invoiced proportionally to participating partners under the Swisscog arrangement. The committee voted to call the legislation forward for the full council to consider.
No final council appropriation or contract adoption was recorded in the legislative session notes for that evening; the committee action was to place the lease‑purchase and contract on the legislative agenda for formal consideration in a subsequent meeting.
