Assurance Wireless — ETC expansion In Docket No. 25-04017, the commission accepted a stipulation to expand Assurance Wireless USA’s designation as an eligible telecommunications carrier (ETC) throughout Nevada. The parties stipulated that Assurance Wireless will identify in its advisory tariff the portions of Nevada in which it provides service, will not seek support from the Nevada Fund to maintain telephone-service availability, and will file necessary advisory-tariff revisions within 60 days of the order. The commission accepted the stipulation and issued the order by unanimous voice vote.
Rapid Construction — one-call violation stipulation and NAC deviation The commission considered a joint petition and stipulation between regulatory operations staff and Rapid Construction regarding alleged violations of Nevada’s one-call law. Because the petition was filed on July 9 and statewide computer outages affected timeframes, the commission found good cause to deviate from the usual 60-day deemed-denied timeline in the applicable Nevada Administrative Code provisions and accepted the stipulation. The commission voted to waive the 60-day timeline for the joint petition and issue the order as proposed.
Fiber Assico LLC — competitive-supplier application and NAC deviation The commission granted the application of Fiber Assico LLC (transcript reads “Fiverr Asset Co LLC” / “Fiber Assico LLC” in places) for authority to operate as a competitive supplier of telecommunications service in Nevada. The commission again found good cause to deviate from the 60-day timeline imposed by the NAC because of the statewide computer outages, approved the application, and issued the appropriate order.
Procedure and voting Most of these items were approved on motions and seconded with voice votes of “aye” recorded and the chair announcing the motions carried.
