The Ventura County Consolidated Oversight Board on Wednesday adopted amendments to its bylaws to designate July as a regular recess month and to add provisions for alternates to serve in place of absent members.
The change passed on a 6-0 vote. The board discussed two primary changes before voting: aligning the oversight board’s recess schedule with the county Board of Supervisors’ July recess and adding language to allow alternates to serve when appointed members are unavailable.
Board staff member Robert (staff member) summarized the proposal, telling the board the two “big changes” were to follow the supervisors’ schedule and to reflect the addition of alternates in the bylaws. Chair Micheler noted that adoption of the amendment would not prohibit calling a special meeting if an emergency arose.
Board members raised no further questions before a motion to adopt was made and seconded. The chair called for the vote and the motion carried 6-0.
