Council appoints members to Bedford boards and commissions
Summary
Council approved a slate of appointments to citizen boards and commissions, naming members and two chairpersons following interviews conducted in July and council interviews the prior week.
The Bedford City Council on Sept. 23 approved appointments to the city's citizen boards and commissions, confirming members recommended after interviews earlier this month.
City Secretary Michael Wells read the list of appointees into the record. Appointments included members to the Beautification Advisory Board, Library Advisory Board, Planning and Zoning Commission, Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, Senior Advisory Board, Building and Standards Commission, and others. The council noted one outstanding item for the library advisory board chair that will be returned to council.
Council thanked applicants for applying and encouraged those not appointed to stay involved and attend meetings as nonvoting participants if they wish. Council voted to confirm the appointments unanimously; Council member Farco made the motion and Council member Donovan Brandon seconded.
The full list of appointed names was read on the record and will be sent to applicants and non-applicants by city staff the following day.
