P3 Urban Montessori meets four preopening contract conditions, board told

"They met the 4 contract conditions," an agency presenter told the board.
Staff said P3 has documented a special‑education teacher on staff and described assessment plans (Istation for math; NWEA MAP or similar for reading identified as MIRA in the application), provided documentation of the entity name and nonprofit status change, corrected its budget and secured a facilities lease. The presenter also said the school applied for Department of Human Services licensure to provide summer daycare and before/after care and had received a partial reimbursement of its $1.9 million charter school program grant award.
The board noted the agency's 18‑month preopening timeline and that P3 had initially sought to open earlier; members said adherence to the preopening timeline was appropriate. The board did not take formal action at the update but staff said compliance officers will meet with school leaders in October to review the preopening checklist and next steps.
The board discussed no additional conditions at the meeting.
