Durham County commissioners approve agenda, minutes and consent items; move to closed session

Durham County commissioners completed routine and formal business on Sept. 22, approving the meeting agenda, prior minutes and a multi-item consent agenda that included capital repairs at Lincoln Community Health Center and a Research Triangle Foundation donation for a sheriff’s office upfit.
Early in the meeting, Commissioner Burton moved to approve the agenda; Commissioner Valentine seconded. The chair called the vote and the agenda was approved 3–0.

Attorney Williamson announced the following board appointments as carried by the board: Zhao Wei Lu to the Audit Oversight Committee; Jennings Brody to Discover Durham Tourism Development Authority; Mark Radin to the Environmental Affairs Board; Alvar Horton to the Historic Preservation Commission; and Lee Rodeo to the Memorial Stadium Authority. The board moved into closed session under North Carolina General Statute 143-318.11(a)(4) and (a)(3). Commissioners moved and seconded to go into closed session; the transcript records those motions and indicates the board entered closed session.
