Williamson County Schools elects Josh Brown chair, Claire Reeves vice chair

Josh Brown was elected chair of the Williamson County Schools Board for the 2025–26 term, and Claire Reeves was chosen as vice chair, the board announced after voice votes at its meeting.

Superintendent Jason Golden presided over the organizational portion of the meeting because board rules call for the superintendent to run the meeting until a board chair is chosen. Board member Jay Galbraith nominated Brown; the nomination was seconded and, with nominations closed, the board held a voice vote that passed. Later, Mr. Cash nominated Claire Reeves for vice chair; Reeves’ nomination received a second and the board approved it by voice vote.

The board moved quickly through the organizational items. Golden explained the nomination and voting process before asking for nominations. After nominations closed, the chair and vice chair elections were decided by voice vote in which the board members present signaled approval.

Both elections were uncontested. The board recorded 11 members present earlier in the meeting, and no opposition was raised during the voice votes. The board then momentarily rearranged seating and continued the regular agenda.

Board leadership positions are procedural and set the board’s internal organization for the coming year. Golden said he presided only until the chair was chosen and then turned the meeting to the newly elected chair to continue regular business.

No formal roll-call tallies beyond the voice votes were recorded in the meeting transcript for these elections. The board proceeded immediately to public comment and other agenda items after the leadership votes.
