County approves Fuqua Subdivision lot split on Highway 83

The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners approved an application to create the Fuqua Subdivision, splitting a 7.36-acre dwelling site from the surrounding 610.83-acre agricultural parcel on South Highway 83.
Judy Clark, Lincoln County planning administrator, told commissioners the subdivision had appeared earlier before the county planning commission but was processed as an administrative subdivision because it consists of fewer than three lots and met the county’s zoning and subdivision regulations. Clark said the applicants submitted corrected legal descriptions and that planning staff had no objection.
Commissioners moved to approve the subdivision application as presented; a roll call recorded ayes from commissioners present and the motion carried. Clark said the lot line includes an existing tree line on the north side and that aerial photos were provided to the board to explain the proposed boundary.
Clark also announced a planning “101” session for local planning commissioners and village planning officials on Oct. 14, with presenters from the Nebraska Planning and Zoning Association. She said the session would be advertised so interested officials could attend.
The board’s approval completes county review of this administrative subdivision application; the county clerk’s office will record the final plat per standard procedures.
