County presents Casual Day funds to Community Housing Network amid affordable housing update

Macomb County commissioners received an update from Community Housing Network, which said county funds will support efforts to help residents remain housed. Commissioners presented a Casual Day check to CHN and voted to receive and file the presentation 12–0.
Community Housing Network representatives told the Macomb County Board of Commissioners on Sept. 18 that the organization’s county-supported funds will help residents avoid homelessness by supporting permanent supportive housing, rapid rehousing and street outreach.
Robert Boyle, development director, and Eric Burton, grants manager, said CHN recently opened eight workforce-affordable units called Kelly Court and that the county’s Casual Day donation will be used to help county residents maintain stable housing.
“We do everything from street outreach to permanent supportive housing, rapid rehousing,” Boyle said. “The money that we're receiving today is going to help county residents stay in their stable homes.”
The board voted 12–0 to receive and file the presentation and subsequently presented a check to the organization.
The presentation was classed as part of the BOC casual day charity recognition and included staff remarks and a group photo; CHN described local partnerships and the need for stable housing as costs rise.
