Fremont County approves $4.66 million bid for Riverview road rebuild

The county's presentation said Alexander Construction was the low bidder; commissioners noted higher bids that reached roughly $7.2 million. Staff said parts of the bid that cover city-owned utilities (water, storm sewer, sanitary sewer and some irrigation) will not fall to the county and will be removed from the county's cost through the city's reimbursement process. "It's going to be a great project," a county staff member said during the presentation.
Commissioners moved and seconded the recommendation to award; no individual mover/seconder was recorded in the transcript. The motion passed on a voice vote.
Background provided at the meeting said the county will act as the prime financial agent for the contract, then seek reimbursement from the City of Riverton for the city's portion of work that benefits its utilities and services.
