The report noted progress in raising shared instructional practices, building data fluency and aligning school continuous improvement work to district goals in literacy, math, attendance and ninth‑grade on‑track measures.

Challenges and context: Presenters noted last year’s calendar compression from the spring work stoppage and the district’s tight fiscal position, which complicates the deployment of some grant strategies that rely on stable funding. Staff said the Oregon accountability bill and new state indicators will shift some reporting requirements, and district leaders said they will provide additional data and analysis at future meetings.

Continuous improvement preview: Instructional staff gave a preview of a district continuous improvement system for 2025–26 that ties board goals and district priorities to school improvement cycles, interim assessment practices and regular progress monitoring. Staff said more data and school‑level growth results will be shared with the board in October.
