Commissioner Lindsey reported conversations with a club contact (Brad) and said he does not expect an environmental remediation requirement based on comparisons to another club, but that BLM terrain and drainage issues complicate site selection. Lindsey said trap-house concrete work can cost roughly $20 per trap house and that electrical hookup costs and water availability are key variables; she said the club needs two functioning restrooms and running water to meet tournament ranking criteria.
Board members reviewed maps showing BLM parcels near the existing club and a nearby Westmark International mining claim. Lindsey said she will contact Northwestern Energy about current electric hookup costs and follow up with BLM and other agencies to reinitiate site discussions. The board agreed to collect realistic cost estimates and site constraints before advancing relocation plans.
No formal vote or commitment of county funds occurred at the Sept. 15 meeting.
