In committee earlier the Finance, Audit and Budget Committee reviewed an ordinance amending ordinance 024-143 to update the capital improvement program for fiscal years 2025–2029 and an ordinance authorizing a revision to an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD) for the Red Line Extension project. Committee staff summarized the CIP amendment as an update that increases the 2025–2029 CIP by $79,553,000 to a new total of $7,066,044,069 and programs new funds including grants for electric buses and bus corridor planning.
