Resident protests inclusion in REAP program; council refers case to staff

Campos said he had an appointment to appeal a final decision but learned the property was placed into the program on Friday without his consent. He said the family had not received the notices the department said it sent and that the property was family-occupied.
Council members declined to resolve the dispute on the floor. The Council directed Campos to staff and to Councilmember Walters’ office for follow-up. Walters’ staff said the department had indicated it sent two notices and that tenants had agreed to participate; she said the next step would be for property rehabilitation work to begin if the program application stands.
The Council did not take formal action on the specific enrollment in REAP during the meeting; staff was asked to work with the resident to clarify notices and next steps.
